Loongson 2K3000(3B6000M) Processor Successfully Taped Out
Recently, the Loongson 2K3000 (3B6000M) has completed preliminary functional and performance testing, with all indicators meeting expectations. The Loongson 2K3000 and Loongson 3B6000M are different packaging versions based on the same silicon wafer, targeting industrial control applications field and mobile terminal field, respectively.
The chip integrates 8 LA364E processor cores, and based on the actual measurement, the single-core fixed-point score of SPEC CPU 2006 Base reaches 30 points when the main frequency is 2.5GHz.
The chip integrates the second-generation self-developed GPGPU core LG200. Compared with the first-generation GPU core LG100 integrated in the Loongson 2K2000, the graphics performance has been doubled. In addition to graphics acceleration, the LG200 also supports general-purpose computing acceleration and AI acceleration. The peak single-precision floating-point performance is 256 GFLOPS, and the peak 8-bit fixed-point performance is 8 TOPS. Currently, the OpenCL computing power framework and relevant AI acceleration software have completed preliminary testing, and the relevant supporting software is being improved. Dozens of industrial control and informatization integrated machine enterprises have started to introduce this chip for product design.
Additionally, the chip integrates an independent hardware codec module, which supports various mainstream video formats. It supports the output of three display interfaces, namely eDP/DP/HDMI. The processing performance for 4K high-definition videos can reach 60 frames. It also integrates a secure and trusted module, which can provide secure and trusted support as well as cryptographic services. In addition to the SM2/3/4 hardware algorithm modules, it also implements a reconfigurable cryptographic module that can be used for software programming. The chip integrates a rich variety of I/O expansion interfaces, including PCIe 3.0, USB 3.0/USB 2.0, SATA 3.0, GMAC, eMMC, SDIO, SPI, LPC, RapidIO, and CAN-FD, etc., to meet the application requirements of different fields.
With the successful tape-out of Loongson 2K3000/3B6000M, Loongson's general-purpose CPUs have formed a complete series of products covering three product lines, namely desktops, servers, and terminals, which are capable of providing high-performance and cost-effective CPU chip products for different fields.
